Special Caregiver Discount

Overview

Qualifying Passengers Individuals with Caregiver Discount Passes.
  • Online reservations are also limited to individuals with Caregiver Discount Passes. Please present your "Caregiver Discount Pass" when you purchase your airplane ticket and carry out the boarding procedure.
If you do not present the aforementioned certificate, you might have to purchase a ticket with a fare that is purchasable on the flight date.
Reservation Period Reservations are accepted from the date specified by the company until the day of the flight.
Reservation Changes Permitted
You cannot change the passenger name after the reservation has been made.
Seat Restrictions Yes
Purchase Deadline Within four days, including the date of the reservation
However, if the reservation is between three days prior to the flight date and the day of the flight, the deadline is 20 minutes prior to the departure time on the day of the flight.
Period of Validity With reservation: for reserved flight only.
Without reservation: the date of issuance and 1 year from the day following the date of issuance
  • Due to the renewal of the Domestic Passenger Service System, the flight ticket will not be available after May 19, 2026, even if your ticket is still valid.

Refund

Refund Period After a ticket has been purchased, a refund can only be provided within 30 days as calculated from the day after the period of validity for the airplane ticket ends.
Refund Handling Fee JPY 440 per ticket (one route)
Cancellation Fee No cancellation fee will be charged if you request a reservation cancellation before the time of departure for your planned flight.
Additionally, the following cancellation fee will be charged if you do not request a reservation cancellation before the time of departure for your planned flight.
  • Tokyo (Haneda) - Okinawa (Naha) route: JPY 8,000
  • Tokyo (Haneda) - Miyazaki / Kumamoto / Nagasaki / Kagoshima / Oita routes, Okinawa (Naha) - Miyazaki / Kagoshima / Kobe / Nagoya (Chubu) / Fukuoka routes, Nagoya (Chubu) - Miyazaki / Kagoshima routes: JPY 6,000
  • Okinawa (Naha) - Ishigaki route: JPY 4,000

Notes

We will apply a fare amount that is valid on the purchase date of the airplane ticket. Adjustment of the cost difference, either an additional charge or a refund, might be necessary.

How to Apply for a Caregiver Discount Pass

  1. Individuals certified as needing long-term care/support, as well as the caregivers(12 years of age or older) who assist them, qualify to use a Caregiver Discount Pass, limited to 1 flight connected to the nearest airport of the person giving or receiving care. Nursing caregivers (individuals who provide care) can include up to 2 people from among the following: a first- or second-degree relative of a passenger certified as needing long-term care/support, the spouse of a sibling of that person's spouse, and the parents of that person's child's spouse.
  2. Caregiver Discount Passes can only be issued by the Solaseed Nursing Care Office. You cannot apply at the airport counter or at a sales branch office.
  3. To apply, please send the following documents. Please be aware in advance that checking the documents and issuing the Caregiver Discount Passes can take some time.

    • Caregiver Discount Passes are valid for 1 month following the end of the approved nursing care or support period.
    • To use the Special Caregiver Discount Fare, you must wait to make your reservation and purchase until you have the Caregiver Discount Passes in your possession. Please be aware that the number of seats available is restricted.

Required Documents

  1. Your Long-Term Care Insurance card or certification results notification to provide proof of certification (copy permitted)
    • We will not accept an uncertified Long-Term Care Insurance card. We will not accept a Long-Term Care Insurance card whose certification expiration date has passed.
  2. Public document proving the relationship between the qualified care recipient and the caregiver (full or abridged family register, copy accepted)
    • This document must have been issued within the past 6 months (including the acquisition date). 1 copy will be permitted if the name can be confirmed.
  3. Documents proving the Special Caregiver Discount user's current address (resident register, driver's license, or health insurance card, or My Number Card, copy accepted)
    • This document must have been issued within the past 6 months (including the acquisition date). 1 copy will be permitted if the name can be confirmed.
      Only driver's licenses and health insurance cards that have not expired are accepted.
    • Please send one of the aforementioned documents that contain the name, etc. of the corresponding individual.
    • If the current address is included on the back of the health insurance card, please send a copy of the back of the health insurance card.
  4. A photograph of the Special Caregiver Discount user (3 cm × 3 cm)
    • It must be a photo of the person's upper body so their face can be confirmed. Please be sure to write that person's name on the back of the photograph.
  5. Caregiver Discount Pass application form (Japanese version only)
    (The file is in Acrobat PDF format.  Adobe Reader is needed to download it. You might not be able to download it properly, depending on the software version. If you have difficulties, please upgrade to the newest version and try again.)

Renewing or Reissuing the Caregiver Discount Pass

  • If the pass is still valid or up to 1 year has passed since it expired.
    The same documents used when the pass was initially issued (the above-mentioned required documents 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), or your current pass and the above-mentioned documents 1, 3, 4 and 5 are required. However, if your Caregiver Discount Pass is not in your possession, you cannot purchase a ticket or board a flight.
  • If more than a year has passed since your pass expired, if your Long-Term Care Insurance number has changed, or if you have lost your pass, then the same documents used when the pass was initially issued (the above-mentioned required documents 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) are required.
  • The name of the care recipient or caregiver cannot be changed during the renewal procedure. Those who wish to change their name need to apply for a new Caregiver Discount Pass.

Cautions

  • The issuance date of the airplane ticket will be the date of credit card settlement or the date our company confirms payment by cash.
  • Cancellations after purchase will incur refund handling and cancellation fees.
  • We will collect a Passenger Facility Charges on behalf of the airport facility company if your flight departs from or arrives at an airport subject to this policy. 
  • The ticket can only be used by the person that is named on the ticket. Even if ownership of a ticket is transferred (sold via online auction, etc.), persons who are not named on the ticket cannot use it.
